Terms and Conditions

All our staff are trained jewellers and as a small team of 5 we all work closely on every piece. However, you may have one of the team taking the lead in your commission. We all take great pride in the work we do and aim to give you the best possible experience with your piece with Clifton Rocks.

Titanium jewellery cannot be resized.
Due to the hard and tough nature of the metal, titanium has to be specially milled by our partner company and each piece is made bespoke, to order. If you are unsure about your size, please come back into the shop to be sized before ordering your piece. If you would like to change the ring size once your piece has gone into manufacture there will be a further charge as a new ring may need to be made.

Please be aware that your finger size can change significantly in different temperatures or if you have lost / gained weight etc. Some customers who find they have fluctuating finger sizes opt for a ‘Summer ring’ and ‘Winter ring’, two rings that are different sizes.

We do occasionally take on repairs of other jewellers’ pieces in the workshop but are not responsible for the original craftsmanship of the piece and any faults that come from wear and tear and care of the piece. And it is up to our jeweller’s discretion whether to take a piece for repair. Any repairs we take on are guaranteed for 6 months but only the work we have carried out.

Pearls and soft stones
We don’t recommend doing rings with pearls as the soft nature of the material and the heavy wear rings receive result in damage. Pearl rings will only be made at the customer’s own risk and we will have to charge for any future replacements. This also applies to any soft stones such as opals, coral, jet and amber etc. Please refer to the MOH’s scale of hardness or ask one of the team for advice.

Stone selection
At Clifton Rocks we offer a stone selection service. It is an amazing opportunity to select the perfect piece for your commission. Once you have chosen your stone and gone home with your finished piece we cannot change the stone. You have chosen that stone and seen all the characteristics and inclusions that may be in the stone and okayed this. Our staff only select the best stones for the budget and quality control all stones before they are shown to you, so you know you are getting the best piece. We can change the stone but there will be a further charge for a new stone and any other extras that may be incurred such as setting. Please feel free to ask any of our trained jewellers if you would like any more help.

Own stones

Unfortunately we are unable to guarantee stones provided by the customer, any work undertaken is at your own risk.

Certified Stones
We can source certified stoned from a range of gemmological bodies if this is something you would be interested in. Certificates tend to only be available for stones 30pts and over and with white diamonds. Some coloured stones such as sapphires, rubies and emeralds can be certified but this tends to be for stones costing over approx. £3000. Please ask one of our team if you would like some more advise on this.

Resizing platinum and palladium. We may need to send certain pieces to a specialist laser welder not based in the shop to finish the piece to the highest standard. This is completely normal within the jewellery industry and items will be send tracked and will be insured while in the post.

Commissions are non-returnable and non-refundable.
Unwanted designer goods must be returned unworn within 30 days for exchange or credit.
Earrings cannot be returned for hygiene reasons.

Clifton rocks only uses reputable diamond suppliers that purchase their diamonds from legitimate sources not involved in funding conflict diamonds, in compliance with United Nations resolution. The supplier guarantees that their diamonds are conflict-free, based on personal knowledge and/or written guarantees.

We have also recently been able to source Canada Mark Diamonds, stones that are traceable to the mine, ethically sourced. Please ask one of our team for more information.

Please look after your jewellery, with proper care it will last you many years. Clifton Rocks offers a free check-up service for your jewellery – please bring it in if you have any concerns, all our staff are trained jewellers.

We intend to keep your details so that we can provide you a quote, a receipt, follow up email and to hold information of your order for future reference. The details are kept on our computer which is password protected and any paper documentation is kept in a locked cabinet and destroyed after 6 years. By signing you are agreeing to our terms and conditions and the details of your order including stone specs and rings sizes etc. We will never pass your details on to a third party. A copy of our privacy policy is available on our website or you can request to see it on our shop tablet.

Often we will take a photo of your piece for our records, website and social media. Please let us know if you do not wish your piece to be shared.

We may share any reviews posted on Google or any other public platforms to our social media and will try to anonymise them but we assume anything posted publicly can be shared further.
